Marina's Journey: Education and Career

Early Life and Studies

Marina Tognetti studied Business & Economics at Luiss Guido Carli University in Rome, Italy. She graduated with honors. Later, she earned an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from INSEAD in France. An MBA is a special degree that helps people learn how to run businesses.

Working Around the World

Marina has lived and worked in many different countries. She even spent a year traveling across Asia! She speaks many languages, including Italian, English, Dutch, French, Spanish, and a little bit of Mandarin Chinese.

She started her career in marketing at Procter & Gamble in Rome. There, she worked on promoting different products that people buy every day. After that, she moved to The Netherlands to work for Philips. At Philips, she was in charge of computer monitors for Southern Europe.

After getting her MBA, Marina joined Sara Lee. She became a Marketing Director in Paris, France, for their coffee and grocery products. Later, she moved back to The Netherlands to lead new product development. She also worked for The Boston Consulting Group, a company that helps other businesses improve.

Starting Myngle: An Idea Comes to Life

Marina wanted to gain hands-on experience with the Internet. So, she joined eBay, a big online marketplace. This experience helped her get ready to start her own company.

She founded Myngle because she found it hard to learn Chinese herself. She realized that learning a language would be much easier if you could learn from a native speaker, just like living in that country. Thanks to the internet, this became possible!

Myngle started small but grew with help from investors like HenQ and Rabobank in 2009. At first, Myngle taught languages to individuals. But soon, it began focusing mostly on helping businesses and their employees learn new languages.
