Mario Golf is a fun sports game released in 1999. It was made by Camelot Software Planning and published by Nintendo. In this game, you get to play golf with famous characters like Mario, his friends, and even some of his enemies!

This game came out for the Nintendo 64 and also for the Game Boy Color. It's the second game in the Mario Golf series. The Game Boy Color version even added some cool role-playing elements.

Over the years, the Nintendo 64 version has been re-released on other Nintendo systems. You could play it on the Wii and Wii U Virtual Console. It also became available on the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack service. The Game Boy Color version was re-released on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console and later on the Nintendo Switch Online service.

How to Play Mario Golf

SnapMarioGolf
Mario Golf was the first game in the series to use 3D computer graphics.

In Mario Golf, you can choose from many popular characters. These include Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, and Wario. There are also some new characters made just for the game.

You play on different golf courses that are designed with fun Mario themes. The game is easy to learn and play, even if you don't know much about real golf. It simplifies the complicated parts of the sport.

Even though it looks simple, many things can affect your golf shot. For example, the wind's strength and direction can change your shot. Rain can also make a difference. Each character has their own special abilities. You can also add spin to the ball, and the way the land is shaped affects your shot.

The game has many different ways to play. You can try "speed golf" to finish quickly. "Ring shot" challenges you to hit the ball through rings. There's also "mini golf" and "skins match" for more fun. All the characters have voice clips they use to comment on shots during the game.

Connecting the Games

The Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Color versions of Mario Golf could connect using a special device called the Transfer Pak. This allowed players to share characters and game data between the two versions. If you played with a Game Boy Color character, they would earn experience points after each round of golf.
