Mario Kart 64 (known in Japan as マリオカート64 (Mario Kāto Rokujūyon)) is an exciting racing game created by Nintendo. It was made for the Nintendo 64 game console. This game is the second one in the popular Mario Kart series. It is also the follow-up to the original Super Mario Kart.
In Mario Kart 64, you can choose from eight different characters to race with. The game was first released in Japan in 1996. It came out in North America and Europe in 1997. Later, it was also released for the Wii's Virtual Console in 2007. Then, it came to the Wii U's Virtual Console in 2016.

Race Tracks and Cups
Mario Kart 64 has 16 different race tracks, also called courses. These tracks are split into four main cups. Each cup has four unique courses. You can race through different places like beaches, mountains, and even a rainbow road!
Mushroom Cup Tracks
The Mushroom Cup is usually the first cup players try. It has some fun and classic tracks.
