South Maroota is a small area, called a suburb, located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It's about 72 kilometers northwest of the main city center. This suburb is part of a bigger area known as The Hills Shire. The Hawkesbury River flows along its western side.
Historic Places
South Maroota has some special places that are protected because of their history. These are called heritage-listed sites. One of these important spots is the Great Drain, which you can find on Wisemans Ferry Road. These sites help us learn about the past.
Fun and Activities
If you like outdoor fun, South Maroota has Pacific Park. This park is great for activities like motocross (dirt bike racing) and water skiing. It's located right on the banks of the Hawkesbury River. Also, in 1970, the Kiata Country Club was started here. It became one of Sydney's biggest clubs for different activities.
