Marshall Maquel McFadden (born August 4, 1986) is a former professional football player. He played as a linebacker, which is a defensive position in football. Linebackers stop players from the other team who are trying to score. Marshall played for teams in both the NFL and the CFL. He played college football at South Carolina State University.

College Football Career

Marshall McFadden played as a linebacker for South Carolina State University. During his time there, he showed great skill on the field. In the 2007 season, he made 12 tackles. A tackle is when a defensive player stops an offensive player who has the ball.

His best college season was in 2008. That year, he made 88 tackles and also had 5 sacks. A sack happens when a defensive player tackles the opposing team's quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. For his excellent performance, he was named the MEAC Defensive Player of the Week in 2008.

Playing in the Pros

After college, Marshall McFadden joined several professional football teams.

Pittsburgh Steelers

In 2012, Marshall signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He spent time on their practice squad, which is a group of players who train with the team but are not on the main roster. Sometimes, players from the practice squad get a chance to play in real games. Marshall was promoted to the main team for a short time in November 2012.

Oakland Raiders

In 2013, Marshall moved to the Oakland Raiders. He joined their practice squad, continuing to train and work hard.

St. Louis Rams

Marshall then played for the St. Louis Rams. In October 2014, he was moved to the Rams' active roster. This meant he was officially part of the main team and could play in games. He stayed with the Rams until September 2015.

Toronto Argonauts

Later in his career, Marshall played for the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL. The CFL is a professional football league in Canada, similar to the NFL but with some different rules.

Life After Football: NASCAR

After his football career, Marshall McFadden found a new way to compete in sports. He joined the world of NASCAR racing. He became a member of a pit crew. A pit crew is a team of people who quickly service a race car during a race. They change tires, refuel the car, and make adjustments.

Marshall works as a "gasman" for various NASCAR teams. A gasman is responsible for quickly refilling the car's fuel tank during a pit stop. Currently, he works for Jeremy Clements Racing. It's cool how he went from tackling players on the football field to helping race cars speed around the track!
