What is McKim Creek?
McKim Creek is about 20.4 miles (32.8 km) long. It helps drain an area of about 37.3 square miles (97 km2). This area is part of the Allegheny Plateau, a high, flat region that was not covered by glaciers a long time ago.
Where Does McKim Creek Start and End?
McKim Creek begins its journey just east of a place called McKim in Tyler County. From there, it flows mostly west.
As it travels, the creek passes through several small communities:
- McKim
- Plum Run (both in Tyler County)
- Hebron (in Pleasants County)
Finally, McKim Creek flows into Middle Island Creek at a community called Union Mills. This meeting point is about 4.6 miles (7.4 km) upstream from where Middle Island Creek joins the Ohio River in St. Marys.
