About McKinley Neighborhood
McKinley is easy to find on a map. To the north, it's bordered by Dowling Avenue North. To the south, you'll find Lowry Avenue North. Dupont Avenue North is its western boundary. The famous Mississippi River forms its eastern edge.
Who is McKinley Named After?
The neighborhood gets its name from William McKinley. He was the 25th president of the United States. He served as president from 1897 until 1901.
Homes in McKinley
Most of the houses in McKinley are two stories tall. They are usually single-family homes made of wood. You can also see charming bungalows here. Some smaller homes are built in the Tudor style, which looks a bit like old English cottages. Most of these houses were built a long time ago, between 1910 and 1930.
Perkins Hill Park
McKinley has a lovely neighborhood park called Perkins Hill. It's a great spot for outdoor fun. You can find it between 34th and 35th avenues North. It's also close to Interstate 94, a major highway.

McKinley is part of Ward 4 in Minneapolis. A "ward" is like a district that elects its own representative. The person who represents Ward 4 on the City Council is called a council member.
