History of McVille
McVille was founded in 1906. This happened after a railroad line was built, extending from a place called Aneta, North Dakota. The McDougall family played a big part in starting the town. Many of the first people who lived in the area had last names that began with "Mc," which is how the town got its name.
Interestingly, the original town of McVille was not in the exact spot it is today. When the railroad system grew, the town actually moved to its current location. Some of the first important businesses in McVille included a grain elevator, a bank, a blacksmith shop, and a general store.
