History of Mead
Mead got its name from Dr. Martin S. Mead, who was one of the first people to settle in the area. A post office opened in Mead in 1907, helping the community grow. The town was officially recognized and became an incorporated town on March 17, 1908.

Mead is found at coordinates 40°13′29″N 104°59′19″W / 40.22472°N 104.98861°W. It's about 35 miles north of Denver, which is the capital city of Colorado.
