Meadow Lake is a cool reservoir (which is like a big, artificial lake) in Guadalupe County, Texas. You can find it just south of the town of Seguin.

This lake was created way back in 1931. People built a dam on the Guadalupe River to form it. The main reason for building the dam was to make hydroelectricity, which is power from moving water.

Since May 1, 1963, the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority has been in charge of managing the dam and the lake. Meadow Lake is also a popular spot for outdoor fun, like fishing and boating. Some local people also call it Lake Nolte.

Fish and Plant Life in Meadow Lake

Meadow Lake is home to many different kinds of fish and plants. The lake has been stocked with fish to make it a great place for fishing.

Fish You Can Find

You might catch several types of fish here. These include different kinds of catfish and spotted bass. You can also find white crappie, various sunfish, and big largemouth bass.

Plants Growing in the Lake

The lake also has many interesting plants. You can see tall cattails along the edges. There are also pondweed, bright yellow American lotus, and spatterdock. Other plants include rushes, water hyacinth, water lettuce, and hydrilla.

Having Fun at Meadow Lake

Meadow Lake is a fun place for outdoor activities, especially if you like being on the water.

Accessing the Lake

It's important to know that there isn't free public access to Meadow Lake. There are two private boat ramps you can use, but you'll need to pay a small fee.

Boating Rules

These boat ramps are only for small fishing boats. If you have a jet ski, a ski boat, or similar fast watercraft, you can't use these specific facilities. This helps keep the lake calm for fishing and smaller boats.
