Meadows Place is a city in Fort Bend County, Texas. It is part of the larger Houston area. In 2020, about 4,767 people lived there.

Meadows Place used to be part of Stafford's area. It became its own city on November 14, 1983. At first, it was just called "Meadows." But in 1997, the name changed to "Meadows Place." This was because another city in Texas had a similar name, Meadow, Texas, which caused problems with mail delivery.

History of Meadows Place

Meadows Place started as a special water district in 1967. The land for the city was bought by Ayrshire Corporation. This company built the first houses in 1968. Ayrshire Corporation is a family business that has built many different types of properties across the United States and Australia.

Meadows Place officially became a city on November 14, 1983. This was done to avoid being taken over by the larger city of Houston. In 1990, the city had 4,606 residents. By 2010, the population was 4,660.

In 2012, Meadows Place won an award from Keep Texas Beautiful. This was for a special project that reused water. They built a beautiful new lake in the middle of the city. This lake is used for fun activities like fishing. It also helps water the city's parks and baseball fields. This project was so successful that Meadows Place was asked to share their story at big water conferences. People from many places, including Canada and Sweden, have visited to see how a small city could do such a big project.

Meadows Place is located in the northeast part of Fort Bend County. It is next to the city of Sugar Land to the west. Stafford is to the south, and Houston is to the northeast. Downtown Houston is about 16 miles away.

The city covers about 0.9 square miles (2.4 square kilometers) of land. There is no water area within the city limits.

Meadows Place is located between West Bellfort Avenue, U.S. Route 59/I-69, Dairy Ashford Road, and West Airport Boulevard. It is also about 1 mile southwest of Houston's Beltway 8.

There is also a private school in Meadows Place called Sugar Grove Christian School. It teaches preschool and elementary students. It started in 1969.

Meadows Place has many parks and places for fun! There are six parks in the city:

The lake also helps water the city parks, which saves money. This project was named one of the top environmental projects in Texas in 2012. People from all over the country have come to see it!
