Greater Houston, officially called Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land by the United States government, is a very large group of cities and towns. It is the fifth-most populous metropolitan area in the United States. This huge area is made up of nine counties located along the Gulf Coast in Southeast Texas. As of 2018, almost 7 million people lived here, and that number has grown even more since then! Greater Houston is the second-most populous metropolitan area in Texas, right after the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.
