Medford was in a region where a lot of wheat was grown. So, it became an important place for farming and trade. It had a flour mill and places to store grain. By 1909, the town had three banks and three weekly newspapers.
On May 27, 1908, people in Grant County voted. They chose Medford to be the county seat. This means it's where the county government offices are located. A new courthouse was opened on July 4, 1910. Sadly, a big fire on June 25, 1911, destroyed five blocks of buildings.
On July 9, 2022, there was an incident at a plant near the city. This caused people living close by to leave their homes for a short time.
