Mendon is a small city located in Cache County, Utah, USA. In 2020, about 1,339 people lived there. It is part of the larger Logan, Utah-Idaho Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History of Mendon, Utah
Mendon was first settled in 1859. One of its first settlers was James G. Willie. He led a group of pioneers known as the Willie Company. This group traveled using handcarts. James G. Willie later served as the mayor and postmaster of Mendon.
The Forster Hotel is an important building in Mendon. It is one of nine places in the city listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means it is a special place with historical importance.
In 1974, Mendon made news across the country. The city council changed how much the mayor and council members were paid. For over 100 years, the mayor earned $15 per year. Council members earned $10 per year. These amounts were set when Mendon became a city in 1870. The new salaries were $300 per year for the mayor and $5 for each of the 18 council meetings.
Geography and Location
Mendon is located in the Cache Valley. The city covers about 1.2 square miles (3.2 square kilometers) of land. There is no water area within the city limits.
