Mickfield is a small village in the Mid Suffolk area of eastern England. It is located in the county of Suffolk, about five miles northeast of the town of Stowmarket. In 2005, about 200 people lived in Mickfield. By 2011, the population had grown slightly to 231.
About Mickfield Village
Mickfield is known as a civil parish. This means it's a local area with its own small government, often called a parish council. These councils help manage local services and represent the community.
Village Churches
Mickfield has a long history, and its churches are an important part of that.
St. Andrew's Church
The Church of St. Andrew is a historic building in Mickfield. In the late 1970s, the church was no longer used for regular services. It started to fall apart over time.
However, a group called the Anglia Church Trust (ACT) stepped in. They worked hard to fix and restore the old church. Now, the building is used again by the community for different events and activities.
Mickfield Evangelical Church
For over 100 years, Mickfield also had a small church building called the brethren gospel hall. This building was taken down in 2009.
A new church was built to replace it, called Mickfield Evangelical Church. This church is now part of a larger group called the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC).
