Middleton is a lovely town in South Australia. It sits on the eastern side of the south coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula. You can find it between the towns of Port Elliot and Goolwa. It's a popular spot for holidays and tourists, especially known for its great surf beach.

The waters near Middleton are home to amazing marine animals. You might see southern right whales during their special season. These whales come here to have their babies and find partners. This usually happens from June or July to October.

A Look at History
The land where Middleton's first homes were built was bought in 1849. A person named Lt Col Thomas Higgins purchased it. He named the town "Middleton" after a town in Ireland.
The original people of this area were the Ngarrindjeri. They have a long history with this land.
