The History of Mieders
Mieders was founded a very long time ago, around the year 1100. It started as a village with houses spread out on a gentle slope. This slope is at the bottom of a tall mountain called Serles, which is 2718 meters high. People have lived in this area since the early Middle Ages. The older part of the town has special houses decorated with beautiful baroque frescoes, which are paintings done directly on walls or ceilings.
