Miguel Molina González (born on February 17, 1989) is a Spanish race car driver. He currently competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship and other special GT races for AF Corse. He was also part of the Circuit de Catalunya Young Drivers Programme, which helps young drivers get started in racing.

Miguel Molina's Racing Journey

Starting in Karting

Like many professional racers, Miguel Molina began his journey in karting. This is where drivers learn the basics of racing in small, open-wheel vehicles. He won the Spanish Cadet Championships two years in a row, in 1999 and 2000. He also won the Catalan Junior Championship in 2001 and the Spanish Junior Championship in 2003.

Early Steps in Single-Seater Cars

In 2004, Miguel moved into single-seater racing. His first series was the Spanish Formula Junior 1600, where he finished 6th overall. The next year, he raced in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 championship. In 2006, he joined the Spanish Formula Three Championship, where he won one race and earned five other podium finishes, ending the season in 6th place.

Racing in Formula Renault 3.5 Series

Towards the end of 2006, Miguel joined the Formula Renault 3.5 Series. He raced full-time in this series starting in 2007. He won two races that year and finished 7th in the standings. In 2008, he continued in the series, winning two more races and finishing 4th overall. He raced in the 2009 season as well, finishing 8th.

Superleague Formula Experience

In June 2009, Miguel also competed in the Superleague Formula series. He raced for the Al Ain team in the first event of the season, finishing 9th in one race and 4th in another.

Competing in DTM Touring Cars

Miguel Molina made his DTM debut in 2010.

In 2010, Miguel switched from single-seater cars to touring cars and joined the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) series. He raced for the Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline.

Winning at Le Mans in WEC

Miguel Molina has also been a key driver in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). In 2024, he achieved a huge victory. Along with his teammates Nicklas Nielsen and Antonio Fuoco, he won the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race in the Hypercar category for the Ferrari AF Corse team. This is one of the most important endurance races in the world.
