Who Was Philip Milburn?

Milburn Peak is named after a very special person. His name was Philip Giles Milburn. He was a brave pilot from Prince George, British Columbia.

Philip was a Flying Officer in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He flew a famous airplane called a Lancaster. These planes were used during World War II.

He was part of Squadron 550 of the Royal Air Force. Sadly, Philip lost his life while serving his country on April 23, 1944. He was only 23 years old. The mountain honors his memory and sacrifice.
