Millhaven Creek (which is ruisseau Millhaven in French) is a cool stream in eastern Ontario, Canada. It flows through different areas like Loyalist, Lennox and Addington County, South Frontenac, Frontenac County, and the city of Kingston. This creek is a smaller river that eventually flows into Lake Ontario. The Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority helps look after it.
Where Does Millhaven Creek Flow?
Millhaven Creek starts its journey at Sydenham Lake in a place called Sydenham. It begins at an elevation of about 130 meters (427 feet) above sea level. From there, it flows southwest towards Peters Lake.
After leaving Peters Lake, the creek keeps heading southwest. It goes under Frontenac County Road 38 near Murvale. Then, it enters the northwest part of Kingston.
The creek soon reaches the northeast side of Odessa Lake. It then enters Loyalist at this lake. After leaving Odessa Lake, it continues its southwest path.
Millhaven Creek flows under Ontario Highway 401 near the community of Odessa. It also passes over the Millhaven Dam. The creek then goes through the areas of Asselstine and Link's Corners.
Finally, the creek makes a sharp turn, first southeast and then south. It flows under Ontario Highway 33 at the community of Millhaven. Millhaven Creek then reaches its end, flowing into Lake Ontario at an elevation of about 74.1 meters (243 feet).
