Millswood is a friendly neighborhood located just south of Adelaide, a big city in Australia. It's mostly a place where people live in homes. This area got its name from a Scottish man named Samuel Mills. He came to Australia way back in 1839. Millswood is part of the City of Unley.

Exploring Millswood
A main road called Goodwood Road cuts through Millswood. This road goes north all the way to the center of Adelaide. It also connects to Pasadena in the south.
On one side of Goodwood Road, Millswood is next to areas like Goodwood, Forestville, Black Forest, and Clarence Park. On the other side, it borders Goodwood, Hyde Park, Unley Park, and Kings Park.
Train Lines and Stations
At the northern edge of Millswood, a railway line splits into two. One line, the Seaford railway line, goes southwest. The other, the Belair railway line, goes southeast.
The Millswood railway station is on the Belair line. It's located at the southern edge of the suburb. This station was closed in 1995 but reopened for trains in 2014.
Goodwood Subway
Goodwood Road goes under the railway line through a deep tunnel. This tunnel is known as the Goodwood Subway. Sometimes, during very heavy rain, this subway can fill with water.
Parks and Clubs
In the middle of the railway lines and Millswood Crescent, you'll find some fun places. There's the SASMEE Park, which stands for the South Australian Society of Model & Experimental Engineers. Here, you can see cool model trains and other machines.
You can also find clubs for croquet, lawn bowls, and lawn tennis in this area.
Goodwood Oval
The Goodwood Oval is a large sports ground. It has a grandstand for watching games and a playground for kids. There are also barbecue areas, a soccer field, cricket practice nets, and eight hard tennis courts. It's a great spot for sports and outdoor activities.
Tabor College Australia
The old Goodwood Orphanage building is located on the corner of Goodwood Road and Mitchell Street. This building and the park around it are now home to Tabor College Australia. This college is a place where students can study different subjects.
Millswood's Past
Millswood was named after Samuel Mills, a man from Scotland. He arrived in the colony of South Australia in 1839. Samuel Mills owned a large property in the area called Ravenswood Farm.
Hackett's Nursery
In 1917, a family business called Hackett's Nursery moved to Millswood. They bought a large piece of land, about 6 acres, in the Millswood Estate. This nursery was very well-known and received lots of praise. It continued to operate in Millswood until 1952.
