Former Communities and Post Offices
- Dover was a post office that operated in the township for a few years, from 1836 to 1841.
- Peter Truitt settled in the area in 1831. He opened a place called the "White Oak Tavern." This tavern was a stop on the old Chicago Road, which is now US 12. It was named after a huge oak tree nearby.
- Later, another post office called Truitt's opened in 1897. It was located near a train station. This post office closed in 1901.

Milton Township is found in the southwest corner of Cass County. It shares its western border with Berrien County. To the south, it borders the state of Indiana.
