Mimi Rogers was born Miriam Ann Spickler in Coral Gables, Florida. Her father, Philip C. Spickler, was a civil engineer. Her mother, Kathy Talent, studied dance and drama.
Her family moved around a lot when she was young. They lived in Virginia, Arizona, Michigan, and England. Eventually, they settled in Los Angeles.
Mimi finished her formal schooling at age fourteen, graduating from high school. Before becoming an actress, she worked in a hospital. She also spent six years helping people with challenges part-time.
Interestingly, at the start of their acting careers, Mimi Rogers and actress Kirstie Alley lived together.

On May 9, 1987, she married actor Tom Cruise. Their marriage ended in 1989, and they divorced in February 1990.
In April 1990, Mimi met her current husband, producer Chris Ciaffa. They met while working on a film together. They have two children: a daughter named Lucy (born in 1994) and a son named Charlie (born in 2001). Mimi and Chris got married on March 20, 2003.
Connection to Scientology
Mimi Rogers's father became interested in Dianetics in 1952. He later became involved with the Church of Scientology. The organization was part of Mimi's upbringing.
Before she became an actress, Mimi Rogers opened a practice with her first husband. This practice was related to Scientology.
In a 1991 interview, Mimi Rogers said that Scientology was part of her upbringing. She felt it was a good system of belief. She said it offered a practical way to understand spiritual ideas.
Mimi Rogers is no longer a member of the Church of Scientology.
