Minor Hill is a small city in Giles County, Tennessee, in the United States. In 2010, about 537 people lived there.

History of Minor Hill
Minor Hill gets its name from Joseph Minor. He was one of the first people to settle in this area. Later, a person who owned land from Joseph Minor's property gave some of it away. This land was used to build a school, a church, and a cemetery in the mid-1800s.
A post office opened in Minor Hill in 1870. The city officially became a city in the same year.
Civil War Event
During the American Civil War, a Confederate scout named Sam Davis was captured in Minor Hill. This happened on November 19, 1863. He was then taken to Pulaski, where he was executed eight days later. Today, there is a monument in Minor Hill. It stands where Sam Davis was captured.
Music History
James David Vaughan was a famous publisher of gospel song books. He published his very first song book in Minor Hill in 1900. Vaughan and three of his brothers were also musicians. They performed as a gospel quartet across the region.
Geography of Minor Hill
Minor Hill is located at coordinates 35°2′18″N 87°10′16″W / 35.03833°N 87.17111°W. The city sits on top of a hill. This hill rises almost 200 feet (about 61 meters) above the West Fork Shoal Creek Valley. This valley is just to the east of the city.
State Route 11 goes through Minor Hill. This road connects the city to Pulaski to the northeast. It also connects to Lauderdale County, Alabama, to the southwest. When the road crosses into Alabama, it becomes Alabama State Route 207.
The United States Census Bureau says that Minor Hill covers about 1.6 square miles (4.1 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
