In 1987, Mirandinha made history! He joined Newcastle United in England. He was the very first Brazilian footballer to play in English football. This was a big moment for him and for football. He played his first game in September 1987. He stayed with Newcastle until 1989, scoring 19 goals in 54 games. After his time in England, he went back to Brazil to play for Palmeiras.
