Mitchell James Langerak (born 22 August 1988) is a retired Australian professional footballer. He played as a goalkeeper, which is the player who protects the goal.

Mitchell Langerak's Club Career
Mitchell Langerak played for several football clubs during his career. He started in Australia before moving to Germany, Spain, and Japan.
Playing for Melbourne Victory
Langerak signed his first professional contract with Melbourne Victory in February 2007. To get more experience, he was loaned to South Melbourne for a short time.
After his loan, he became the second-choice goalkeeper for Melbourne Victory. He made his first game for the team in the 2007–08 season against Sydney FC. Even though two goals were scored against him, he played well in the 2–2 draw.
Later, he became the main goalkeeper for Melbourne Victory. In 2010, the German club Borussia Dortmund wanted to sign him. Melbourne Victory first said no, but eventually, they agreed.
Time at South Melbourne
In 2007, Langerak joined South Melbourne on loan. The club was having a tough time, with their main goalkeeper injured.
Langerak's strong performances helped the team improve. This loan period gave him valuable experience.
Playing for Borussia Dortmund
On 12 May 2010, Langerak joined Borussia Dortmund in Germany. He became the team's second-choice goalkeeper. He wanted to learn as much as possible during his first season.
He played his first game for Dortmund in a 3–1 win against Bayern Munich. He also helped his team win the DFB-Pokal (German Cup) in 2012. This was his third title with the club.
Langerak also won the 2013 DFL-Supercup with Dortmund. He made his first appearance in the UEFA Champions League in 2013.
Moving to VfB Stuttgart
For the 2015–16 season, Langerak moved to VfB Stuttgart. He played his first game for them in May 2016. That season, Stuttgart was moved down to a lower league.
After another goalkeeper left, Langerak became the main starter for Stuttgart. He quickly became a favorite among the fans.
Short Time at Levante
On 30 August 2017, Langerak joined Levante in Spain for two years. However, he did not play any games for them.
Success at Nagoya Grampus
On 14 January 2018, Langerak signed with Nagoya Grampus in Japan. He played many games for them and achieved great success.
- On 12 December 2020, he played his 100th game in the J.League.
- He set a new J.League record in 2020 by keeping 17 clean sheets (meaning no goals were scored against his team).
- In 2021, he broke his own record with 18 clean sheets.
- He also set a record for not letting in a goal for 823 minutes straight!
- On 23 September 2023, he played his 200th J.League game.
- He helped Nagoya Grampus win the J.League Cup in 2024, even scoring a penalty in the final shootout.
Return to Melbourne Victory and Retirement
On 3 August 2024, Melbourne Victory announced that Langerak would return to the club. This move happened during the January 2025 transfer window.
On July 10, 2025, Melbourne Victory announced Langerak's retirement from playing football. He will now work as a coach in the Victory Academy Program, helping young players.

Langerak also played for the Australian national football teams.
Playing for Australia's Youth Team
He was part of the Young Socceroos squad in 2006.
Playing for the Senior National Team
Langerak was first called up to the senior Australian team in March 2011. He made his debut for Australia on 12 October 2013, in a friendly game against France.
He was chosen for the Australian squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. He was also part of the team that won the 2015 AFC Asian Cup in Australia, though he did not play in any matches.
In May 2021, Langerak announced he was stepping away from international football. He wanted to spend more time with his family during the COVID-19 pandemic. In September 2022, he said he was available to play for Australia again, but he was not chosen for the 2022 FIFA World Cup squad.
