Moacyr Claudino Pinto da Silva, often called Moacir, is a famous Brazilian former football player. He was born on May 18, 1936, in São Paulo, Brazil. Moacir played as a midfielder or a forward during his career.

Moacir's Early Life
Moacir's father worked on the railway. When Moacir was young, he left home and lived for over ten years in a special home for children called an orphanage in Osasco. A friend suggested he try out for the youth football teams at CR Flamengo. He joined the club and started living in their dorms. Today, Moacir lives in Guayaquil City, where he raised his family.
Playing for Football Clubs
After playing for the junior teams, Moacir showed great talent. He was chosen to join the main team at CR Flamengo. He played for Flamengo from 1956 to 1961, scoring 31 goals in 92 games.
Later in his career, Moacir also played for other big clubs. He played for River Plate in Argentina and Peñarol in Uruguay. He also played for Everest and Barcelona in Ecuador.
Playing for Brazil
Moacir played for the Brazil national football team between 1957 and 1960. He played in 6 games and scored 2 goals for his country.
He was part of the amazing Brazilian team that won the 1958 FIFA World Cup in Sweden. Even though he was on the winning team, he did not play in any games during the tournament. He mostly served as a reserve player for another famous footballer named Didi.
