Mohamed Siddiq El-Minshawi was a very famous Egyptian reciter of the Qur'an. He was born in Suhaaj, Egypt, on January 1, 1920. He came from a family of reciters; his father, Siddiq El-Minshawi, and his brother, Mahmoud El-Minshawi, were also well-known for their beautiful Qur'an recitations.

From a young age, Mohamed Siddiq El-Minshawi studied the special rules for reciting the Qur'an under a teacher named Ibrahim As-Su'oodi. This helped him become the master reciter he was.
