Monika Linkytė, born on June 3, 1992, is a talented singer and songwriter from Lithuania. She is best known for representing her country twice in the famous Eurovision Song Contest. In 2015, she sang "This Time" with Vaidas Baumila, finishing 18th. She returned to Eurovision in 2023 with her song "Stay", where she placed 11th. Monika has also competed in other music contests, showing her strong passion for music from a young age.

Early Life and Education

Monika Linkytė was born in Šilutė, Lithuania. After finishing school in Gargždai, she moved to Vilnius. She first studied public health at Vilnius University, but later decided to follow her dream of music. In 2016, she moved to London to study music education at BIMM University.

Music Career

Monika's music journey began early. In 2007, she competed in the national selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. She then tried for the main Eurovision contest multiple times. In Eurovizija 2010, she reached the final. She also did well in Eurovizija 2011 and 2012, placing fourth and third.

Monika also competed in Lietuvos Balsas, which is the Lithuanian version of The Voice. She finished in second place, showing off her amazing singing skills.

Eurovision Success

In 2015, Monika competed in Eurovizijos Atranka 2015, the national selection for Eurovision. She won the competition with the song "This Time" alongside Vaidas Baumila. They went on to represent Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna. They made it to the final and finished in 18th place.

After Eurovision, Monika released a popular song called "Po dangum". It became a huge hit in Lithuania. Her first album, Walk with Me, came out in September 2015. It was also very successful. She won several awards at the 2015 M.A.M.A. Awards, which are Lithuania's biggest music awards. She won for Best Album, Best Song ("Po dangum"), and Best Female Act.

In 2023, Monika won Pabandom iš naujo! 2023, which is Lithuania's national final for Eurovision. Her song "Stay" became the official entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. She performed in the second semi-final and qualified for the grand final. In the final, she achieved an impressive 11th place.
