Monster Force is an exciting 13-episode animated TV show that first aired in 1994. It was created by Universal Cartoon Studios and the Canadian company Lacewood Productions. The story takes place around the year 2020. It's about a group of teenagers who use cool, high tech weapons. Their mission is to fight classic Universal Monsters and other spooky beings. These creatures are threatening all of humanity.
Some characters have personal reasons to fight. For example, one has a family curse, and another's family was harmed by Dracula. Others fight simply because they want to protect people. The show was aired at the same time as another Universal cartoon called Exosquad. You can find the first seven episodes on DVD, which were released in 2009.

The Story of Monster Force
In the future, a team of six college students and their professor come together. They form a group called the Monster Force. Their main goal is to keep the world safe. They battle against famous villains like Dracula, The Mummy, and other evil "creatures of the night."
Meet the Characters
The heroes of the show are known as the "Monster Force." They are led by Dr. Reed Crawley. The bad guys are called the "Creatures of the Night." They are mostly led by Dracula, who is known as the greatest vampire ever.
The Monster Force Team
- Dr. Reed Crawley (also known as Doc)
- Voiced by Lawrence Bayne.
- Doc is a smart young scientist. He is the main planner and leader of the team. Dracula once captured him, and since then, Doc has vowed to stop him. He invents all the amazing weapons and gear the Monster Force uses. One of his best inventions is the EMACS, or Energized Monster Armed Containment Suit. This power suit helps normal humans fight super-strong dark powers.
- Luke Talbot (also known as the Wolfman)
- Voiced by Paul Haddad.
- Luke is the only werewolf on the team. He is also one of the few (besides Frankenstein) who doesn't use Doc's high-tech gear. Luke is a kind young man. He has lycanthropy, which is a curse passed down in his family for generations. When there's a full moon, he can't control himself. His teammates have to hold him back. But his Wolfman form makes him super strong in monster fights. He is believed to be related to Lawrence Talbot, the first wolfman.
- Tripp Hansen (also known as the Martial Artist)
- Voiced by Philip Akin.
- Tripp is a man of action and always positive. He loves to fight. He is an expert in martial arts. When he wears his power suit, he becomes even stronger. He also has a special move called Storm Strike. His motto is: "One monster at a time!"
- Lance McGruder (also known as Powerhouse Marksman)
- Voiced by David Hewlett.
- Lance is the team's long-range weapon expert. His power suit has a lot of firepower. He can shoot beams of cold, heat, electricity, and other elements. In his normal life, Lance is quiet and a bit shy. But he is always kind and curious.
- Shelley Frank (also known as the Psychic)
- Voiced by Caroly Larson.
- Shelley is the team's expert at sneaking in and gathering information. She is the only girl on the Monster Force. Her power suit lets her fly. To fly, she had to give up some of her suit's weapon power. She can also do a little bit of telepathy, which means reading minds. It seems that one of her family members was killed by Dracula. Her name is a nod to Mary Shelley, who wrote the book Frankenstein.
- Frankenstein (also known as the Monster)
- Voiced by Howard Jerome.
- This is the same monster created by Victor Frankenstein in the famous novel. But in this show, he's one of the good guys. He is a member of the Monster Force. Frankenstein has amazing strength. He can lift and throw things ten times his own weight. He is also very tough, with super strong skin. If he is ever "killed," he can be brought back to life. All it takes is about 20 kV of electricity. Frankenstein has some family ties to Shelley Frank.
The Creatures of the Night
- Dracula (also known as Prince of Darkness)
- Voiced by Robert Bockstael.
- Dracula is the main villain of the series. He is the biggest enemy of the Monster Force, especially Dr. Crawley. He is a powerful vampire and a Master of Evil. But he often acts polite, charming, and noble. His powers include changing shape, hypnotizing people, creating illusions, and casting spells. He is also a great planner, just like Reed Crawley.
- Creature from the Black Lagoon (also known as the Creature)
- This is a mysterious amphibian creature. It has destroyed whole villages over many years. It can live both in and out of water. It has huge physical strength. It also has a special power: a supersonic shrill sound that can break objects. It appears and disappears in a spooky way.
- HoTep (also known as the Mummy)
- Voiced by Robert Bockstael.
- HoTep is based on the classic Universal Monster. He was a priest in ancient Egypt. He loved Princess Ananka. When she died, he tried to bring her back to life. Because of this, he was cursed and buried for thousands of years. Modern archaeologists accidentally woke him up. As an undead sorcerer, he has many powers. These include super strength and being hard to hurt (but not against energy attacks). He can control sandstorms and change into a dust devil. He can also cast a super cold breath that instantly freezes things and people.
- Niles Lupon (also known as Bela the Werewolf)
- Voiced by Rob Cowan.
- Niles Lupon seems like a harmless old man. But he is the one who gave the curse of lycanthropy to the Talbot family. This started with Lawrence Talbot, Luke Talbot's grandfather. His innocent look fooled almost everyone on the Monster Force. But then they recognized the wolf-headed cane he always carried. It was from Lawrence's old journal. Even though he's old, his werewolf form is super powerful. He has super strength, speed, and can't be hurt by anything except silver and energy weapons. His name is a reference to the actor Béla Lugosi.
- The Bride
- The Bride is a female monster. She was created by Dr. V. Frankenstein to be a partner for his original monster. She isn't really evil. She just wants everyone to leave her alone, even her intended husband, who still loves her. She has the same powers as Frankenstein's Monster.
