Montenol is a small village in Switzerland. It used to be its own separate "municipality." A municipality is like a small local government area, similar to a town or a district. Montenol is located in the Jura canton, which is one of the states of Switzerland. It is also part of the Porrentruy district.
Since January 1, 2009, Montenol joined with other nearby villages. It became part of a new, larger municipality called Clos du Doubs.

Where is Montenol?

A Look at Its History
For many years, Montenol was an independent municipality. It had its own local government. But over time, smaller municipalities in Switzerland often join together. This helps them share resources and manage things better. In 2009, Montenol merged with six other villages. These were Epauvillers, Epiquerez, Montfavergier, Ocourt, Rebévelier, and Seleute. Together, they formed the new municipality of Clos du Doubs. This merger helped create a stronger community for the region.
