Montrose Hagins (born June 12, 1917 – died October 24, 2012) was an African-American actress and a former schoolteacher. She was known for appearing in many popular television shows. Montrose Hagins was a talented actress who brought many characters to life on screen.

About Montrose Hagins
Montrose Hagins was one of five children. Her father was a minister in the Episcopal church. Before she became a famous actress, Montrose was a 4th grade teacher. She taught at Williams Elementary School in Gary, Indiana. She was also a member of St. Augustine's Episcopal Church there.
Her Friendships and Beliefs
Montrose Hagins was good friends with other well-known African-American actresses. These included Rosetta LeNoire, who was in Family Matters, and Esther Rolle, who played Florida Evans in Good Times. Montrose also cared a lot about helping others. She was on the board for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. She also strongly believed in fairness and equal rights for all people.
Life After Acting
Montrose Hagins stopped acting in 2005. She spent her last years living in an old farmhouse in Pennsylvania. She owned several homes during her life. These included houses in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and two homes in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. She also had a home in her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. Montrose Hagins is buried at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
