History of Mooreland

Mooreland was officially planned and mapped out in 1882. This happened on land that belonged to Miles M. Moore. A post office has been open in Mooreland since that same year, 1882.

Mooreland Free Fair

The Mooreland Free Fair is a big event in the town. It usually happens during the first full week of August. This fair is a popular summer tradition.

Fair Activities

The fair unofficially starts on Sunday evening. There is a community worship service at the fairgrounds. These fairgrounds are located at the south end of town. This is where the old Mooreland School used to be.

The main fun begins on Monday. The fairgrounds become busy with many activities. You can find lots of food to eat. There are also games to play and amusement rides. Poor Jack Amusements provides these rides. Many vendors set up stalls. There is also live entertainment.

Fair Schedule

The fair runs all week long. It continues through Saturday. The Mooreland Free Fair is the largest fair of its kind in Henry County. It is a much-loved event for everyone in the area.
