The Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church is located near Morgan City. It was founded in 1909. This church is home to a large memorial marker for the famous blues musician Robert Johnson.
The memorial was put there by the Mt. Zion Memorial Fund. They received a big grant from Columbia Records and other groups. This site is now a popular stop for people on blues tours. It helps share the history of music in Leflore County.
