Where is Morgantown?
Morgantown is in the southeastern part of Morgan County. Its eastern edge is right next to Johnson County. Indiana State Road 252 goes through the town center, known as Washington Street.
This road leads northwest for about 10 miles to Martinsville, which is the main town of the county. Indiana State Road 135 also joins State Road 252 on Washington Street.
However, State Road 135 then turns south out of town on Marion Street. It leads about 12 miles to Nashville. Both highways, State Road 135 and State Road 252, leave town together and go northeast for about 6 miles to Trafalgar.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Morgantown covers a total area of about 0.38 square miles (0.98 square kilometers). All of this area is land. Indian Creek flows along the southern edge of the town. This creek then flows west to the White River, which is south of Martinsville.
