Mort the Chicken is an exciting platformer video game where you play as a brave chicken! It was made by a company called AndNow. Crave Entertainment published the game. It first came out in the United States on November 30, 2000, for the PlayStation console. European players got to play it a bit later, on January 19, 2001.

The Story of Mort

Imagine a peaceful universe where chickens are the main living creatures. Here, Mort the Chicken is a big TV star! But in another universe, there are strange cube-shaped creatures called The Boolyon. These cubes are always spying on others.

Their leader, General Cubicles, saw the chickens' stacks of hay. He thought these haystacks were actually kidnapped citizens from his own cube universe! So, while Mort was busy filming his TV show, the cubes found a well. They used it to travel to the chickens' world.

The Boolyon cubes then kidnapped all the tiny baby chicks! They scattered them all over their own cube universe. Mort was the only one brave enough to act. He quickly jumped down the well, starting his big adventure to save all the baby chicks.

How to Play Mort the Chicken

Mort the Chicken is a fun platformer game. You control Mort as he explores different worlds. Your main goals are to rescue the baby chicks and defeat the cube enemies.

Mort has a special comb on his head. He can use this comb like a whip to destroy most cubes. But watch out, some cubes are too strong to be defeated!

Mort's Health and Power-ups

Mort's health is shown by two stalks of corn. When Mort gets hit, he loses some health, and part of the corn disappears. If he loses all his health, the cubes take a chick he has rescued and imprison it again.

Each level has up to 10 baby chicks for you to find and rescue. Mort can also find helpful power-ups! These special items can make him jump higher or grow bigger. Some power-ups even make his neck-whip attack longer. Others can attract chicks to him or make chicks attack enemies for you.

Collecting Items

You will find eggs and chicken food scattered around the levels. Mort can peck at these with his beak. Eggs give Mort useful power-ups. Chicken food helps Mort regain his health, so make sure to collect it!
