Mother 3 is an exciting video game made for the Game Boy Advance. It was created by two game studios, Brownie Brown and HAL Laboratory. The game first came out in Japan on April 20, 2006. It is the third game in the popular Mother series. Outside of Japan, this series is often known as EarthBound.

The game was a big secret for a while. It was first shown to the public in June 2003. This happened during a TV commercial in Japan for another game called Mother 1 + 2. The developers faced many challenges trying to make the game's 3D graphics work. Because of these difficulties, the project for the Nintendo 64 was canceled. But the game wasn't forgotten! It was then moved to the Game Boy Advance handheld system. This is why it finally came out in 2006.

What Stayed the Same from EarthBound 64

Even though the game moved to a new console, many ideas from EarthBound 64 were still used. Key characters like Lucas, his brother Claus, and their father Flint were kept. The character Boney, a dog, also came from the original plans. Even the main bad guy of the game was kept from the earlier version.

Exploring the Story of Mother 3

The story of Mother 3 takes place on a special place called the Nowhere Islands. These islands are a group of landmasses found in the middle of a big ocean. The islands have different types of places. There is a volcano, two mountains, a castle, and a small, peaceful village called Tazmily.

Starting the Adventure in Tazmily

The story begins when Lucas, his brother Claus, and their mother Hinawa go on a trip. They are visiting their grandpa's house for a vacation. During their visit, Lucas and Claus have fun playing with friendly creatures. These creatures are like peaceful T-Rex dinosaurs and are called Dragos. After a day of playing, they start heading home. Before they leave, Hinawa sends a message to Flint, her husband, letting him know they are on their way back.

The Mysterious Forest Fire

While Lucas and his family are heading home, something strange happens. The forest located near Tazmily village suddenly catches fire. No one knows how or why the fire started, and this event sets off many important parts of the game's story.

Meet the Main Characters

Lucas is one of the most important characters in Mother 3. He is the main hero of the story. Lucas is the son of Hinawa, his mother, and Flint, his father. He is known for being a very kind and gentle boy. Lucas has yellow hair and wears a shirt with a yellow and red stripe.
