History of Moti Mahal
Moti Mahal was founded by Kundan Lal Gujral, Thakur Dass, and Kundan Lal Jaggi. They opened it in Delhi in 1947. Before that, they worked at a small eating place also called Moti Mahal. This place was in Peshawar, which was part of British India at the time. They worked there from the 1920s until 1947.
In 1947, India was divided into two countries. This event is called the partition of India. Because of this, the three partners and their families moved to Delhi. In Delhi, they bought a small space, like a stall, in the Daryaganj area. This is where they started their new Moti Mahal restaurant.
Moti Mahal became very famous for creating two popular dishes. They are known for inventing both butter chicken and dal makhani. These dishes are now loved by many people around the world.
