Mount Baker is a neighborhood in southeast Seattle. It gets its name from the amazing view of the real Mount Baker mountain, which you can see by looking north over Lake Washington.
This neighborhood is surrounded by Lake Washington to the east. To the north, you'll find Interstate 90 and the Leschi neighborhood. To the west is Rainier Valley, and to the south is Columbia City. Mount Baker is part of Seattle's South End.
The community is very active. It has a special club and even a rowing team. Mount Baker also hosts a big yearly event called Seafair. This exciting festival includes an airshow with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels flying amazing stunts. There are also fast hydroplane boat races, a fireworks show, and lots of other fun activities. Students in this area attend Franklin High School and Garfield High School.
