Mount Kyllini is a tall mountain in Greece. It is also known as Mount Cyllene or by its Greek name, Κυλλήνη (Ziria). This mountain is famous because it is linked to the ancient Greek god Hermes.

Mount Kyllini stands about 2,374 meters (7,789 feet) above sea level. This makes it the second highest point on the Peloponnese peninsula. It is located in the western part of Corinthia. The mountain is near the border of the historic regions of Arcadia and Achaea. You can find it northwest of Stymfalia and south of Derveni.

About Mount Kyllini

Much of Mount Kyllini is a wild and rocky place. However, areas below 2,000 meters (6,562 feet) are mostly covered in forests.

There is an observatory on the mountain at 908 meters (2,979 feet) high. An observatory is a place where scientists study stars and planets. Roads run near the southern and western sides of the mountain. But there are not many roads on the mountain itself. This is because a large part of the mountain is a protected park.
