Discovering Mount Little

Mount Little is a part of the amazing Canadian Rockies, a huge mountain range in western North America. It stands tall within the Bow Range, which is a group of mountains inside the Rockies. This mountain is special because it sits right on the line that divides Alberta from British Columbia.

How Tall is Mount Little?

Mount Little reaches an impressive height of 3,134 meters (about 10,282 feet) above sea level. That's taller than many famous buildings! Even though it's very tall, it's not the highest peak nearby. Its "parent peak" is Mount Fay, which is even taller at 3,234 meters.

Who Climbed Mount Little First?

The very first time someone successfully climbed to the top of Mount Little was in 1901. A team of three explorers made this historic climb: G.T. Little, Charles S. Thompson, and G.M. Weed. It must have been an incredible adventure to be the first to reach the summit! The easiest way to climb it today is often considered to be the North-West Ridge route.

Exploring the Area Around Mount Little

Mount Little is located in a beautiful part of Canada, within two famous national parks. On the Alberta side, it's part of Banff National Park, which is known for its stunning lakes, glaciers, and wildlife. On the British Columbia side, it's in Kootenay National Park, another park with incredible natural beauty. These parks are home to many animals like bears, elk, and bighorn sheep, and they offer amazing views and outdoor activities.
