Exploring Mount Tomah
Mount Tomah is about 40 kilometers (25 miles) west of Richmond. It sits along the Bells Line of Road. The most famous spot here is the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden. This garden opened in 1972 and is on the north side of the road.
Besides the garden, Mount Tomah is a quiet area with homes spread out. The soil here is very rich and good for plants. This is because it comes from old volcanic activity.
The very top of Mount Tomah mountain is 1,016 meters (3,333 feet) above sea level. That's pretty high!
