Munnsville is a small village in New York State. It is located in Madison County, within the Town of Stockbridge. In 2010, about 474 people lived there. The village is named after Asa Munn, an early settler. You can find it along New York State Route 46.

Village History
Asa Munn started a store here around 1817. This was one of the first businesses in the community.
Munnsville became a popular place for skateboarding races. This started with the Madison County Gravity Festival in 2002. Skateboarders from North America and Europe visit the town. They race their skateboards at very high speeds, sometimes up to 95 kilometers per hour (about 59 miles per hour). This event usually happens on the last weekend of July.
The old Munnsville train station is no longer used for trains. It used to be part of the New York, Ontario & Western Railway. Now, it is a private home.
Famous People from Munnsville
Munnsville was the last home of Hayden Carruth, a well-known poet.
Bill Horr, an Olympic athlete, was born in Munnsville. He won silver and bronze medals at the 1908 Olympic Games.
