The Murdock River (also known as Rivière Murdock in French) is a river in Northeastern Ontario, Canada. It flows through the Sudbury District in the province of Ontario. This river is part of the larger Lake Huron drainage basin. It is a smaller river that flows into the French River.
Where the Murdock River Flows
The Murdock River starts its journey at a place called Mud Lake. This lake is in Servos Township, which is a part of the Unorganized North Sudbury District.
From Mud Lake, the river flows west. It passes through another lake called Graham Lake. Then, it turns south and goes under the Canadian Pacific Railway main train line.
The river then enters Lovering Lake, near a small community called Paget. It continues flowing west, passing under Ontario Highway 69. Next, it reaches Kakakiwaganda Lake.
After Kakakiwaganda Lake, the river makes a sharp turn. It heads east, going back under Highway 69, and flows into Round Lake.
The Murdock River then travels south-southeast. It briefly goes through a small part of Cox Township. Finally, it enters the area of the French River municipality. Here, it crosses under Ontario Highway 64 and Ontario Highway 607. The river then reaches its end, flowing into the French River itself, close to the main community of French River.
