How Music Learning Works
Learning music at the school is split into three main stages. This helps students learn step-by-step.
- 1. Early Music Fun: This stage is for very young children. It includes musical nursery classes, musical kindergarten, and a special program to get ready for school.
- 2. Elementary Music Education: This is where students learn to play instruments.
- 3. Secondary Music Education: This is for older students who want to continue their music studies. It has two main paths:
- Vocal-instrumental: For those who want to focus on singing or playing an instrument at a higher level.
- Music production with sound processing: For students interested in how music is made and recorded.
The school teaches classes in three different places. The main school building is one. There's also a class for visually impaired children at “Veljko Ramadanović” school. And another at “Lazar Savatić” elementary school.
With about 1,000 students and 145 teachers and staff, it's one of the biggest schools in Serbia. Today, the school offers seven main courses:
- The piano
- String instruments (like violin, cello)
- Wind instruments (like flute, clarinet)
- Solo singing
- The accordion
- The guitar
- A course for music production and audio recording.
So far, about 3,000 students have finished elementary music education here. And around 650 students have completed secondary music education.
