Noraishah "Nasha" Abdul Aziz (born on May 14, 1971) is a famous Malaysian model and actress. She grew up in Kampung Pandan, a neighborhood in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
A Star in Modeling
Nasha Aziz began her career as a model in 1989. The actress and model Tiara Jacquelina helped her get started in the industry. Nasha quickly became a well-known model in Malaysia.
She was so successful that she was offered a modeling contract in New York City. However, she decided to stay in Malaysia. She later modeled in other major cities like Hong Kong and London before starting her acting career.
Because of her success, Nasha was called Malaysia's number one supermodel. She appeared in commercials for famous brands like Nescafe Classic, Avon, Pantene, and Panasonic. For many years, she was the face of major fashion brands like Avon and Polo Ralph Lauren in Malaysia.
An Award-Winning Actress
In 1995, at the age of 24, Nasha started acting. Her first movie was a box-office hit called Kad Cinta. Even after this, she was still more famous for her modeling.
Her acting career took off in 1998. She starred in a popular TV series called Hanya Dikau and a soap opera called Idaman. That same year, the famous director Yusof Haslam offered her a challenging role in the movie Bara. Another famous actress, Erra Fazira, had turned down the part.
Playing this role was a big step for Nasha. It earned her a nomination for Best Actress and the award for Best New Actress at the 13th Malaysia Film Festival. This proved she was a talented actress as well as a top model.
