History of Nashville

Nashville was started around 1888. It became a stop along the Santa Fe Railway, which was a big train line back then. The city was named after Nashville, Tennessee. The first post office opened in August 1887. A local newspaper, the Nashville Journal, began in 1912. Its editor, Clyde Walter, later joined the U.S. Army during World War I.
