Natalia Gavrilița (born 21 September 1977) is a Moldovan economist and politician. She served as the prime minister of Moldova from August 2021 to February 2023. The prime minister is the head of the government and leads the country's daily operations.
Gavrilița is a member of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS). Before becoming prime minister, she was chosen for the job in February 2021 by President Maia Sandu. However, the parliament did not approve her at that time. After a new election in July 2021, her party won a majority, and she was approved as prime minister.
She has also served as Moldova's minister of finance and was a member of the Moldovan Parliament.

Early Life and Education
Natalia Gavrilița was born on September 21, 1977, in the village of Mălăiești. At that time, Moldova was part of the Soviet Union.
From 1995 to 2000, she studied at Moldova State University and earned a degree in law. Later, she attended the famous Harvard University in the United States. There, she earned a master's degree in Public Policy, which is the study of how governments make decisions and solve problems.

Natalia Gavrilița has had many important jobs in government and with international organizations. Her work has focused on helping countries develop and improve.
Government Roles in Moldova
Between 2007 and 2009, Gavrilița worked for the Moldovan government. She led teams that planned for the country's economy and managed help from other countries.
From 2013 to 2015, she worked in the Ministry of Education with Maia Sandu, who was the minister at the time. She also managed an education project for the World Bank.
International Work
From 2010 to 2013, Gavrilița worked for a company in the United Kingdom called Oxford Policy Management. She helped manage and study projects in other countries.
Later, from 2015 to 2019, she was the Managing Director of the Global Innovation Fund. In this role, she managed a fund of about $13.5 million. This money supported new and creative projects in developing countries across Africa and Asia.
Minister of Finance
In 2019, Gavrilița became the Minister of Finance in a government led by Maia Sandu. As finance minister, she was in charge of Moldova's money.
She successfully got about 100 million US dollars in support from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Union. She also created a "Solidarity Budget" that gave pay raises to some workers and more help to people in need.
Becoming Prime Minister
In July 2021, Gavrilița's political party, the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS), won a big victory in the parliamentary election. The party won 63 seats, giving them a strong majority in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova.
Because her party won, Natalia Gavrilița was elected Prime Minister of Moldova on August 6, 2021. As prime minister, she led the government and met with world leaders to discuss important issues. She resigned from her position on February 10, 2023, after her government's reform plans faced challenges.



Political Views
Natalia Gavrilița supports Moldova's goal of joining the European Union. The European Union is a group of European countries that work together on trade and laws.
However, she does not support Moldova joining NATO, which is a military alliance. She also does not support Moldova uniting with its neighbor, Romania.
Personal Life
Gavrilița was married to Vladimir Gavrilița. They divorced in June 2021.
She is fluent in several languages, including Romanian, Russian, English, French, and Spanish.
Her grandfather, Trifon Catrinescu, was a soldier in the Soviet Army during the Second World War. He was awarded a medal for his service.
