Nerf is a super popular brand of toys, mostly known for its foam-based blasters. It was first made by Parker Brothers and is now owned by Hasbro.

Even though Nerf is famous for its toy guns, called "blasters," it also makes other cool sports gear. You can find Nerf footballs, skateboards, scooters, and even bikes!

Nerf has many different lines of blasters, like Zombie Strike, Modulus, Elite, Mega, and Rival. Each line offers unique ways to play.

Nerf Sports Gear

The Nerf Sports line, also called N-Sports, has a bunch of foam balls that look like real sports balls. They come in different colors and designs. Some footballs even have the colors and logos of the NFL.

There's also a special Vortex sub-line of foam footballs. These footballs have cool tail-fins that make them look like torpedoes. This design helps them fly much farther when you throw them!

Nerf Blasters

Nerf Blasters are the most popular Nerf toys. They are plastic toy guns that shoot soft foam darts. These darts come in many types. Some have Velcro tips to stick to special Nerf vests. Others have suction cups to stick to smooth surfaces. Some darts are designed to whistle as they fly, which is pretty cool!

Most Nerf blasters have "tactical rails." These are special slots where you can add different accessories. You can attach barrel extensions or stocks to customize your blaster. The main line of blasters is called N-Strike Elite. It started in 2004 as "N-Strike" with yellow blasters. In 2012, it became "N-Strike Elite" with better ranges and a blue, orange, and white look.

Vortex Blasters

In 2011, Nerf introduced the Vortex blasters. These blasters shoot small, soft discs made of foam-covered plastic. The discs are usually green, bright orange, or glow-in-the-dark white. Nerf brought the series back in 2018 with new colors. Vortex blasters can shoot discs up to 60 feet away!

Zombie Strike Blasters

The Zombie Strike line came out in 2013. These blasters are perfect for fans of Humans vs. Zombies games. They have a cool, post-apocalyptic style to help you fight off imaginary zombies.

Modulus Blasters

The Nerf Modulus blasters are all about customization. This line includes many accessories and kits that let you change your blaster's look and function. Modulus blasters are usually white, grey, and green.

Rebelle Blasters

The Rebelle line was made with girls in mind. These blasters feature bright pink, purple, and teal colors. They combine fun play with a stylish design.

Nitro Blasters

In 2017, Nerf released the Nitro line. Instead of darts, these blasters fire foam cars! You can launch the cars into obstacles and stunt ramps for exciting races and crashes.

Rival Blasters

Nerf Rival blasters are made for an older group of players. They shoot small foam balls, which Nerf calls "High Impact Rounds." These blasters are known for shooting further and more accurately than other Nerf lines. Rival blasters come in white, red, and blue.

The "Phantom Corps" is a sub-series within Rival. It includes its own blasters and white versions of some original red and blue blasters. Phantom Corps blasters come with removable colored banners. This lets you easily switch teams during a game without needing a new blaster.

Nerf N-Force Weapons

The N-Force line was all about foam swords and other close-combat toys. These foam weapons could even fit into special Nerf vests or bandolier kits.

Nerf also made special N-Force weapons based on popular movies. For example, they released Thor's Hammer and swords from the Thor and The Avengers movies. They also made the Snake Eyes Blade of Justice from the G.I. Joe: Retaliation film.

Super Soaker Water Guns

Super Soaker is a very popular line of water guns. It was first owned by Larami. Now, Hasbro has released many Nerf-branded Super Soaker blasters. This means you can find your favorite water guns under the Nerf name!

Lazer Tag Toys

Lazer Tag is a classic laser tag toy line from the 1980s. It's now part of the Nerf family too. The newest Lazer Tag blasters can even connect to iPhones or iPod Touch devices. This makes the game even more exciting and interactive!

Nerf Dog Toys

In 2013, Nerf launched Nerf Dog. This is a line of toys for dogs, inspired by Nerf's fun designs. These toys are made from tough rubber, nylon, and plastic. They are great for playing fetch and other games with your furry friends.

One cool Nerf Dog toy is a ball thrower that can launch a toy up to 250 feet! There's also a Tennis Ball Blaster that looks like a Nerf gun and shoots a tennis ball up to 50 feet.

Nerf Video Games

Nerf has also made video game accessories for consoles like the PlayStation 2, Nintendo DSi, 3DS, and the Wii.

In 1999, the first-person shooter game Nerf Arena Blast was released. Later, EA Games made two more Nerf video games: Nerf N-Strike in 2008 and Nerf N-Strike Elite in 2009. These games even came with a special blaster that worked as a real dart blaster and a Wii Remote accessory!

Nerf Awards

Nerf toys have won some cool awards over the years!

In 2011, the Nerf N-Strike Stampede ECS was named "Boy Toy of the Year." The Nerf Super Soaker Shot Blast also won "Outdoor Toy of the Year." These awards were given at the 11th Annual Toy of the Year Awards in New York City.

In 2014, the Nerf Zombie Strike Crossfire Bow won the "Best Action Toy" award at the U.K. Toy Fair.
