The Story of Nestlé Pure Life
Nestlé Pure Life first began in 1998 in Pakistan. It then started being sold in Europe in the year 2000.
Nestlé Pure Life in Pakistan
In Pakistan, some people have looked closely at how Nestlé Pure Life gets its water. Reports have talked about making sure water is used fairly. They also discussed how companies should care for the environment. An audit in 2006 suggested that Nestlé should follow rules about water use. It also said they should be responsible for their impact on nature.
Nestlé Pure Life in North America
Nestlé Pure Life came to North America in 2002. Before that, Nestlé had bought a water brand called Aberfoyle Springs in 2000. This brand was then renamed Nestlé Pure Life Aberfoyle. Later, it became Nestlé Pure Life Natural Spring Water. Aberfoyle Springs had been around since 1993.
By mid-2020, Nestlé Canada was getting water from a few places. These included a source in Aberfoyle, Ontario, a well in Erin, Ontario, and another in Hope, British Columbia. They also owned a well in Elora, Ontario that was not yet being used.
In July 2020, Nestlé Canada announced plans to sell its water bottling business. They planned to sell it to Ice River Springs. This sale would include the water sources and bottling plants in Aberfoyle and Hope. It also included the well in Erin. This announcement came after the Government of Ontario planned new rules. These rules would give local towns more power to stop new bottling plants. They would also set new limits on taking water from the ground. However, Nestlé said they had been planning to sell the business since 2019. The deal with Ice River Springs did not happen as planned.
Then, in February 2021, Nestlé announced a new agreement. They agreed to sell most of their water brands in North America. The buyers were One Rock Capital Partners and Metropoulos & Co. These companies then created BlueTriton Brands. The sale was completed in April 2021. It included the North American parts of Pure Life. It also included other spring water brands and a delivery service. However, popular brands like Perrier, S.Pellegrino, and Acqua Panna were not part of this sale.
Where Nestlé Pure Life is Made and Sold
In Canada, Nestlé has two main places where they bottle Nestlé Pure Life water. The bigger bottling plant is in Aberfoyle, Ontario. The smaller one is in Hope, British Columbia. There are also warehouses in Chilliwack, British Columbia, Hamilton, Ontario, and Laval, Quebec.
Nestlé Pure Life water is sold in many parts of the world. You can find it in North America, South America, Europe, Asia (including the Middle East), and Africa. In South Africa, another company called Clover Waters makes Nestlé Pure Life.
